EDMOND – Central Oklahoma soccer announced its 2026 schedule and will open the new season late August on their home field.
UCO will play 18 matches, including nine home dates at Tom Thompson Field. MIAA play will begin late September with a total of 12 league contests this fall.
"It's a tough schedule right out of the gate, but we're always looking for the challenge," UCO head women's soccer coach Amel Muhamedagic said. "We know the MIAA is going to be tough and we've added some tough non-conference games to prepare us to be the best we can be.
"We have some good returning players and have added some key new players," Muhamedagic continued. "So, we believe we can be competitive again this year."
Central Oklahoma posted a record of 10-6-5 last season and reached the MIAA Championship final, falling short against Missouri Western.
The Broncho home debut and first two non-conference matchups will be against Minnesota State and Augustana Aug. 28 & 30.
After passing through Shawnee to face Oklahoma Baptist Sept. 4, UCO will head to Wichita Falls, Texas to play Midwestern State Sept. 6 and complete their first weekend on the road.
To finish out non-conference play, Central Oklahoma will host Southern Nazarene Sept. 9 in Edmond and face Southwestern Oklahoma State Sept. 12 in Weatherford.
MIAA play begins Sept. 18 in St. Joseph, Missouri, where the Bronchos will seek vengeance against Missouri Western. UCO will then host four league games before hitting the road again. Of the 12 MIAA matches this fall, the Bronchos play six at home and six away.
Central Oklahoma will close out their home season Oct. 23 & 25 against Fort Hays State and Nebraska Kearney, respectively. Regular season comes to an end Oct. 28 against Northeastern State in Tahlequah.
The 2026 MIAA Soccer Championship starts Nov. 1 on campus sites and will continue with the semifinals and championship games Nov. 6-8 in Wichita, Kansas.
Central has won the regular season title once since joining the league in 2013 and has claimed two postseason championships (2018 & 2019). If UCO can qualify for a 17th national tournament appearance, regionals will begin on the second weekend in November.
Central Oklahoma's storied soccer program began in 1998 and its 375 all-time wins are among the most in Division II history. The Bronchos have also qualified for 16 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships. Muhamedagic joined the program in 2007 and UCO is 233-106-47 since that season with 11 national tournament appearances.
