Fours Win Again, Eights Second In Northwest

Central Oklahoma Competes In Two Races At Northwest Collegiate Rowing Championships

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Central Oklahoma split a pair of races Saturday at the inaugural Northwest Collegiate Rowing Championships hosted by Lewis & Clark College on Vancouver Lake.
 
Central's Varsity 4+ boat took first place in a five-team race recording a time of 7:57.04 in the 2,000-meter competition. The Bronchos beat out two boats from the University of Oregon and two boats from Cal Poly Humboldt.
 
UCO's Varsity 8+ finished second in a two-boat race with Humboldt. The Bronchos finished in 7:19.78 behind CPH's 7:08.03.
 
Central Oklahoma is headed back west next. The Bronchos are competing in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships on Lake Natoma just outside Sacramento. The NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Championships are scheduled for May 29-31. The Bronchos have qualified for nationals in each of the last 13 seasons.
