SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Central Oklahoma competed in the Western Intercollegiate Athletics Association this weekend, with racing both Saturday and Sunday on Lake Natoma.
The Bronchos qualified for the Grand Finals of both the Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+ and finished fifth and second respectively.
Central Oklahoma's eights finished second in prelim racing on Saturday, finishing the 2,000-meter course in 7:00.42 to secure a spot in the Grand Final. The fours followed and finished first in their heat in 7:40.87 to join their teammates in the Grand Final.
On Sunday, UCO's eights were up first and finished fifth in the Grand Final, crossing the finish line in 7:04.36. Later Sunday morning, UCO's fours were up and finished second in the Grand Final, earning a medal after a 7:49.79 finish.
Central Oklahoma will now spend two weeks readying for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships May 17 on Lake Natoma. The 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships are scheduled for May 30-31 in West Windsor, New Jersey.
