Treasure Vallerie Adds Another Record, Provisional Qualifier In Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Treasure Vallerie added her name to yet another school record as Central Oklahoma tuned up for the postseason with the Rock Chalk Classic at the University of Kansas Saturday.

Vallerie finished second in the 400-meters with a time of 54.78 seconds, an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark and a new UCO school record. Vallerie already owns two Indoor records in the 200m and 400m as well as being part of three records, Indoor & Outdoor, on relay teams.

Central Oklahoma also got fourth place finishes from Sai Brookins-Fleming in the 400 (56.29 seconds) and Deriayah Lee in the 100-meter hurdles (14.76).

Kerrigan Huyhn (57.62), Genevieve Young (58.49), Faith Millner (1:01.75), Tyana Hymes (1:02.56), and Reta Ojene (1:03.26) all competed in the 400m.

Brookins-Fleming led a group of five sprinters in the 200m, finishing sixth in 24.98 seconds. Huynh (25.81), Young (26.06), Hymes (27.45), and Millner (27.85) also competed.

Mikayla Stephenson was the lone Broncho in the 100-meter dash and she finished 19th with a time of 13.03 seconds.

Central Oklahoma now turns its attention to the postseason, with the MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships scheduled for May 2-4 in Emporia, Kansas.
