Central Completes Final Regular Season Meet

Bronchos Turn To Indoor Postseason

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Central Oklahoma wrapped up the 11th annual Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic Saturday at Pittsburg State's Robert Plaster Center.

The Bronchos will return there in two weeks for the MIAA Indoor Championships.

UCO's relay team turned in a 20th-place showing while Gabija Pukstas led Central's contingent individually with a 22nd-place finish in the 800 meters. She completed the track in 2:17.88.

The first of two relay teams across the finish line, Deriayah Lee, Reta Ojene, Pukstas, and McKenna Huston finished in 4:01.39. The Bronchos also got a 27th place finish from a second relay team, Maya Conrad, Tori McIntosh, Amiya Hill, and Mikayla Stephenson.

In UCO's only field event of the weekend, Abigail Kelly finished 27th in the shot put with a throw of 11.40 meters.

Lily Melton finished 41st in the mile run. Asia Williams competed in the 3,000 meters and finished 47th (11:23.65).

UCO will return to Pitt in two weeks for the MIAA Championships. The NCAAs are two weeks after that before the team turns to Outdoor season.
