UCO Heads To Kansas For MIAA Indoor Championships

Bronchos Competing Saturday & Sunday In Postseason Meet

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Central Oklahoma begins the 2026 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday at Pittsburg State's Robert Plaster Center.
 
Central Oklahoma has 11 student-athletes competing in 10 different events this weekend.
 
The championships begin Friday with the women's pentathlon and men's heptathlon events. UCO will get started Saturday at 2:15 p.m. in the 60-meter hurdles prelims with veteran sprinter Deriayah Lee.
 
Lee has Central's top time this year with an 8.97 in the season-opener. Her career best is 8.82 at the 2025 MIAA Indoor Championships that earned her a sixth-place finish. Lee will also be second in action on Saturday with the 400-meter prelim race at 3:25 p.m. Her career-best 59.20 in the event came in Pittsburg last January.
 
McKenna Huston is competing in the 600-yard prelim at 4:05 p.m. on Saturday. Her season-best 1:27.81 at Pitt two weeks ago earned her a fourth-place finish.
 
A trio of Bronchos will compete in the 800-meter prelim Saturday afternoon. Tori McIntosh, Amiya Hill, and Gabija Pukstas are all entered in the event. Reta Ojene is also competing in the 200-meter prelims at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Arianne Williams, Lily Melton, and Kylee Smith are all competing in the 5,000-meter run Saturday night before Asia Williams, Maya Conrad, McIntosh, and Pukstas compete in the Distance Medley Relay.
 
Pukstas returns Sunday for the Mile at 1:45 p.m. The 3,000-meters and the 4x400-meter relay are the last two events of the championships Sunday at 4:15 p.m. & 5 p.m.
 
Central Oklahoma is aiming for national qualifying marks at this weekend's championships. The Bronchos will transition to Outdoor Season following this weekend with the first meet scheduled for March 20-21 in Canyon, Texas for the West Texas A&M Relays.
