Bronchos Record 10 Top 10s At OBU

SHAWNEE, Kan. – Central Oklahoma recorded 10 Top 10 performances Saturday at the OBU Invitational at Hurt Memorial Athletic Complex.

Central Oklahoma sent 15 student-athletes to compete in 11 different events and UCO recorded Top 10 finishes in eight of those.

Tyana Hymes had a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles and a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles. McKenna Huston also finished fifth in the 400m with Maya Conrad adding a 10th-place finish in the event.

In the 800m, freshman Gabija Pukstas finished eighth and Abigail Kelly also finished eighth in the discus throw. Ariana Williams added a ninth-place finish in the 5,000 meters.

In a pair of event debuts, freshman Maya Winterburn and senior Kylee Smith competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. The finished second and fourth respectively in the four-person race. UCO's 4x400 relay team (Conrad, Pukstas, Amiya Hill, and Huston) also finished in the top five, taking fourth place.

Central Oklahoma is in the midst of five consecutive weekends of competition, with this weekend at Oklahoma Baptist the second of that stretch. UCO will compete in the Texas Relays next week in Austin, Texas.
