Bronchos Host Newman In Soccer Finale

Central Oklahoma Celebrates Senior Day On Final Day of 2025 Regular Season

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma hosts Newman Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the final soccer game of the regular season.
 
Central Oklahoma is 7-5-5 this season with a 5-3-3 record in the MIAA. Newman comes to Edmond with a 2-13-2 overall record and a 1-9-1 mark in league play.
 
Wednesday at Senior Night for UCO. Five student-athletes – Avery Bass, Jimena Guevara, Callie Harbert, Lauren Piper, and Rebecca Tweedy, will be recognized prior to kickoff in their final home game.
 
UCO has clinched a spot in the MIAA Women's Soccer Championship, though the Bronchos could land anywhere from fifth to eighth in the league's postseason tournament. That kicks off Sunday, Nov. 9 with the quarterfinals on campus sites of the top four seeds. The semifinals and final are scheduled for Nov. 14 & 16 in Wichita, Kansas.
 
UCO enters the final game averaging 1.12 goals per game this season. The Bronchos take 13.5 shots per game on average and put 50.4 percent of those shots on target. Opponents score 0.94 goals per game against the Bronchos and take an average of 9.4 shots per game, putting 50.9 percent of shots on goal.
 
Jordan Tanges leads the Bronchos with four goals scored this season. Caleah Carter adds three goals and two assists. Rebekah George has a team-high nine points thanks to a pair of goals and a team-high five assists.
 
Bass has played all 17 games in goal and has a 0.90 goals against average with nine shutouts on the season. She has 62 saves on the year. Bass has 21 career shutouts and 195 career saves. She looks to become the second player in school history with 200 saves this week.
 
Central Oklahoma has made every edition of the MIAA Women's Soccer Championship since joining the league in 2012. The Bronchos won the tournament in 2018 and 2019 and made the final match last season.
