Bronchos Visit Northwest, Mo. West

Central Oklahoma Begins Four-Game Road Swing Friday In Missouri

MARYVILLE, Mo. – Central Oklahoma makes its first MIAA road trip of the season this weekend when the Bronchos take on Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western in league play.
 
Kickoff at Northwest Missouri is scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m. The Bronchos will play Missouri Western Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
UCO is 2-3-3 on the season and 0-1-1 in the MIAA after opening weekend in Edmond. The Bronchos tied Washburn, 0-0, before falling to Emporia State 2-0 on Sunday. Northwest is 4-2-0 overall and 1-0-0 in league play after a win over Northeastern State this past weekend in Tahlequah. Missouri Western is 4-0-2 overall and 0-0-1 in the MIAA after a 2-2 draw at Rogers State.
 
Central Oklahoma is looking to get its offense going this weekend. The Bronchos have scored six goals in eight games, an average of 0.75 per contest. UCO puts up 11.9 shots per game and 36.8 percent of those shots on goal, but has not been able to find the back of the net at a higher rate.
 
Defensively, Central has conceded 11 goals, 1.38 per game, and opponents put up 9.8 shots per game against the Bronchos. Teams put 56.4 percent of shots on goal.
 
Avery Bass has played all 720 minutes in goal through eight games this season. The senior keeper has 33 saves and three shutouts while allowing 11 goals on 78 total shots faced. Bass blanked No. 3 Minnesota State in the season opener, as well as back-to-back shutouts against Southwestern Oklahoma State and Washburn in Edmond.
 
Bass is just three saves shy of moving into the top five for career saves at UCO.
 
Offensively, Jordan Tanges has two goals to lead the Bronchos. Rebekah George, Caleah Carter, Elena Conaway, and Kaitlyn Cotton each have one goal on the season. Carter has taken a team-high 18 shots and leads the team with six shots on goal. George has taken 12 total shots. Tanges is second with four shots on goal.
 
George and Lauren Piper have the only two assists for the Bronchos and they came on the same Carter goal.
 
Northwest Missouri welcomes UCO to Maryville averaging 1.5 goals per game through six games. The Bearcats take 9.8 shots per game and put 47.5 percent on goal. NWMSU allows just 0.67 goals per game having conceded only four scores in six games.
 
Central Oklahoma begins a four-game road trip with Northwest Missouri Friday afternoon. The Bronchos will play at Missouri Western on Sunday and next week, make trips to Fort Hays State and Nebraska Kearney. UCO returns home Oct. 17 to host Central Missouri.
