Bronchos Open Regional Preview Monday

Central Oklahoma Concludes Fall Season In St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Central Oklahoma wraps up its fall season Monday and Tuesday with the Regional Preview at St. Joseph Country Club.

Missouri Western is hosting the 2026 NCAA Division II Central Region Championships in May and will host this week a preview of St. Joseph Country Club, with 36 holes of golf on tap for the two-day event. UCO is sending a lineup of Layne Ailshie, Grace Hall, MaKaylee Cowan, Scarlet Sturch, and Estela Castillo for the fall finale.

Central Oklahoma has played three tournaments this fall and used the same lineup in each outing. The Bronchos are averaging a 295.8 through seven rounds of golf. The Bronchos posted a 4-over-par 288 in the first round of the Grace Shin Invitational two weeks ago in Edmond. The 288 is the fourth-best round in school history and the same can be said for the 4-over mark. UCO's 36-hole 586 is also the sixth best mark in Central's 22-year program history.

Hall leads UCO through three events with a 73.5 scoring average. The freshman from Austin, Texas has two rounds of par or better through seven rounds of competition. Her 3-under-par 68 is a season low.

Ailshie and Cowan both enter the final fall tournament with a 75.1 scoring average. Ailshie is a sophomore from Fort Gibson, Oklahoma and all seven rounds this season have scored between 72-78. Cowan, a junior from Yukon, Oklahoma, has all seven rounds between 72-79.

Sturch earned a career-best third-place finish at the Grace Shin Invitational and her rounds of 72-70 were both career bests as well. The junior from Durant, Oklahoma is averaging a 75.5 entering the Regional Preview.

Castillo is averaging a 77.5 through three events. The junior from Spain has played in every tournament for the Bronchos in two and a half seasons and has 6 of 7 rounds this season between 74 and 78.

Central Oklahoma will break for winter following this week's tournament in St. Joseph, Missouri. UCO returns with five spring tournaments, beginning with its own Southern Invite in Spring, Texas Feb. 16-17.

The Bronchos play in Edmond again in March with trips to Destin, Florida, Mayetta Kansas, and Shangri-La on Grand Lake also on tap for the spring. The 2026 MIAA Women's Golf Championships will be held in Warrensburg, Missouri at Mules National in April, and a return to St. Joseph for the regional is scheduled for May 4-6.
