Bronchos Open MIAA Play On The Road

Central Oklahoma Visits Washburn, Emporia State This Weekend

TOPEKA, Kan. – Central Oklahoma opens MIAA this weekend on the road as the Bronchos visit No. 21 Washburn Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. UCO will also play at Emporia State Sunday at 1 p.m.

Central Oklahoma is 3-3 on the season and alternated wins and losses during non-conference play. UCO beat Southwestern Oklahoma State, Angelo State, and Southern Nazarene, while coming up short at Midwestern State, at home vs. No. 12 Dallas Baptist, and at Oklahoma Christian.

"We've had some good spots and some not so good," first-year head women's soccer coach Amel Muhamedagic said. "We're playing well, but we're giving up early goals and having to work too hard to come from behind. We need to start stronger and keep working to improve every game."

Central Oklahoma enters its fourth week of play and the first week of league competition averaging 2.33 goals per game. UCO has scored 14 goals in six games, with 10 different Bronchos putting at least one in the back of the net. Central has also assisted on 10 of 14 goals this season.

Rebekah George, a graduate transfer from Choctaw, Oklahoma, leads the team with three goals scored. She adds one assist. Caleah Carter and Madison Linavong both have two goals and both have one assist in six games played.

Jordan Hahn, Rebecca Tweedy, Albany Adair, Harmony Turner, Callie Harbert, Evelyn Sydnes, and Jordan Tanges all have scored once this season. Hahn and Tweedy both have a team-high two assists this season. Adair, Turner, and Sheridan Ross each have one as well.

Avery Bass and Olivia Vigil have split time in goal this season, with both playing four games. Bass has started four and Vigil two. Bass has 16 saves. Vigil has five. Bass has allowed nine goals. Vigil has allowed four.

Central Oklahoma will return home following this weekend's brief two-game road trip. The Bronchos host Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western next weekend in Edmond, and will also host Fort Hays State and Nebraska Kearney the following weekend.
