Soccer Announces 2024 Schedule

Central Oklahoma Kicks Off New Season In September With 18-Game Schedule

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma announced Thursday its 2024 soccer schedule that kicks off this fall.

UCO is set to play 18 regular season matches in 2024, with an even split of home and away contests at nine apiece. The Bronchos will also play a 12-game MIAA schedule this fall, with six home and six away games on the league calendar.

The 2024 campaign will mark the first for new Central Oklahoma head women's soccer coach Amel Muhamedagic. After 17 seasons as the assistant coach, including the last three as associate head coach, Muhamedagic now moves into the position of head coach following the retirement of Mike Cook after 25 years leading the Bronchos.

"Well I am really excited for this opportunity, but I'm just as excited for the team," Muhamedagic said. "We've got a good schedule with some tough non-conference games and a good lineup of home games for our fans to come enjoy.

"We're also bringing back a big group from last year," Muhamedagic continued. "We'll have a big senior class with a lot of experience and leadership that we're hopeful will do well for us this season."

Central Oklahoma returns 20 from last year's squad, including seven that started more than half the season. Of the 20, 14 started at least one game last year.

This fall, UCO kicks off the new season on Thursday, Sept. 5 against Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford. The Bronchos continue a short opening weekend road trip with a matchup against Midwestern State on Sunday, Sept. 8 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Central Oklahoma makes its home debut the following weekend and will play three non-conference games at home in a row. The Bronchos host Angelo State (Sept. 12), Dallas Baptist (Sept. 15), and Southern Nazarene (Sept. 18) at Tom Thompson Field on campus.

The final non-conference game this season is scheduled for Sept. 21 against Oklahoma Christian in Oklahoma City.

UCO begins its 12-game MIAA schedule with trips to Washburn and Emporia State on Sept. 27 & 29. A four-game homestand follows with matchups against Northwest Missouri (Oct. 4) and Missouri Western (Oct. 6), and Fort Hays State (Oct. 11) and Nebraska Kearney (Oct. 13) in Edmond.

The Bronchos play at Central Missouri on Oct. 18 and at Missouri Southern on Oct. 20. The final two home games of the season are scheduled for Oct. 25 against Northeastern State and Oct. 27 against Rogers State.

The Bronchos will finish the 2024 regular season on the road. UCO plays at Pittsburg State – a program playing its inaugural season this fall – as the calendar turns to November. UCO plays at Newman Nov. 6 to wrap up the season.

The 2024 MIAA Women's Soccer Championship is scheduled for Nov. 10-17, with the top four teams in the final standings hosting a quarterfinal match on campus Nov. 10. The four winners will meet in Wichita, Kansas for the semifinals Nov. 15 and the championship match is scheduled for Nov. 17.

The NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship begins Nov. 22-24 with regionals. The national championship will be played in Matthews, North Carolina Dec. 14.
