UCO Trio Appears In Final ITA Rankings

Nefeli Zafeiri, Pete Komada, and Blythe Buntrock Are All Ranked To End Season

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its final rankings for the 2023-24 NCAA Division II tennis season and a trio of Central Oklahoma standouts appeared in both singles and doubles rankings.

Nefeli Zafeiri and Pete Komada both appeared in the ITA Singles Top 75, with Komada and teammate Blythe Buntrock also appearing in the ITA Doubles Top 50.

Zafeiri, who is No. 6 in the ITA Central Region rankings, is No. 58 in the national poll. The junior from Greece went 9-7 this season, including a 5-3 record in the MIAA.

Komada, listed seventh in the ITA Central Region rankings, is No. 75 on the national list. A sophomore from Japan, Komada posted an 8-8 record this season, going 6-2 in the MIAA.

The duo of Komada and Buntrock posted an 8-8 record this season, including a 5-2 mark in the MIAA. The doubles team is ranked No. 27 in the ITA Doubles Top 50. Buntrock, from Henderson, Nevada, wrapped up her illustrious career with the Bronchos this season.

Central Oklahoma is ninth as a team in the ITA Central Region rankings following an 8-10 season this year. The Bronchos went 4-4 in the MIAA and were the No. 5 seed in the conference tournament.
