Nefeli Zafeiri Joins Bronchos In National Rankings

UCO Has Two Singles Players, One Doubles Team, In Latest ITA Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – Central Oklahoma has two individuals and one doubles team listed in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings announced Wednesday.

Pete Komada is ranked No. 60 and Nefeli Zafeiri is ranked No. 69 in the ITA Singles Top 75. Komada has been ranked much of her two-year career playing No. 1 for the Bronchos. Zafeiri moved into the No. 1 position last week and is now ranked after starting her time off 2-0 in the top spot.

Komada is 5-5 this season and Nafeiri is 6-3.

Komada is also part of the nationally ranked doubles team. Blythe Buntrock and Komada are ranked 24th in the latest ITA Doubles Top 50.

The duo, which won the ITA Central Regional title this fall, is 5-6 this season all at No. 1 doubles.

Central Oklahoma's midweek non-conference dual at Southeastern Oklahoma State was postponed for a third time Wednesday. Originally scheduled for March, the match was moved to Tuesday, then Wednesday, and now will be a later date to be announced.

The Bronchos are 5-6 this season with a 1-2 record in the MIAA. The 2024 MIAA Women's Tennis Championship is scheduled for May 3-5 at Edmond Center Court.
