Bronchos Add Experienced Midfielder For 2024

Choctaw Native Returns To Oklahoma As Graduate Transfer

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma soccer announced the addition of Rebekah George for the 2024 season with the Choctaw native transferring in from Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

George spent three seasons at Oklahoma State from 2019-21 before heading south for 2022 and 2023. The graduate transfer plays midfield and will spend her sixth and final season in Edmond playing for the Bronchos.

"Rebekah is a really talented player with a lot of experience," UCO associate head coach Amel Muhamedagic said. "She's going to make us better and we're looking forward to having her in the program. Being from Oklahoma, she knows most of the girls on the team and that's going to make bringing her into what we are doing that much easier."

Muhamedagic will move into the role of head coach for the 2024 season after spending the past 17 seasons as an assistant coach and associate head coach. Mike Cook announced his retirement last fall after a 25-year career that featured more than 400 victories.

George played in 25 games during her three-year career at OSU, playing in nine games her rookie season in 2019 and 16 games the next year, when she scored one goal. George did not play the 2021 season before transferring to TAMUCC.

In 2022, George played in 18 games for the Islanders, scoring two goals and serving up one assist. She did not play last fall.

Central Oklahoma begins the 2024 season in August.
