Indoor Season Opens In Topeka

Central Oklahoma Sending 14 Student-Athletes To Washburn For Alumni Invitational

TOPEKA, Kan. – Central Oklahoma begins Indoor Track & Field Season Saturday with Washburn University's Alumni Invitational.

Central Oklahoma is sending 14 student-athletes to the season-opening event. The Bronchos will compete in one event to close out the first semester before returning for the majority of their season in January and February.

Field athletes include Talyn Been and Mattison Thetford in the pole vault, and Abigail Kelly in the shot put.

UCO has a handful of sprinters, a relay team, and a few distance runners headed to Topeka as well.

Karly Clemons and Mikayla Stephenson are set to run in the 60-meter dash. Both Clemons and Stephenson will be joined by Aaliyah Evans, Amiya Hill, and Tyana Hymes in the 200. Evans, Hill, Hymes, Deriayah Lee, Faith Millner, and Jakayla Swanson are all scheduled for the 400. Hymes and Lee will also run the 60-meter hurdles.

Hymes, Lee, Milllner, and Swanson are the scheduled four for the 4x400 relay.

Ariane Williams and Asia Williams will run the 1-mile race, with Ariane also running the 5,000 meters. Genevieve Young will compete in the 600-yard race to round out the distance crew.

Central Oklahoma returns Jan. 11 with the Friends First Chance Qualifier in Wichita. The Bronchos will compete in OU's Owen Hewett Invitational in Norman in January, along with Pittsburg State's Rumble in the Jungle.

UCO is down for two meets in February. The Bronchos will return to Norman for the JD Martin Invitational and Pitt State for the Russ Jewett Gorilla Classic.

The 2025 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for Feb. 28 – March 2 in Maryville, Missouri. The 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for March 13-15 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
