Bronchos Cruise Into Grand Finals

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – Central Oklahoma won both of its heat races Friday morning at the NCAA Division II Rowing Championships to place both its Varity 8+ and Varsity 4+ boats in Saturday's Grand Finals.

UCO's eights were up first in the second heat of the day. After Cal Poly Humboldt won the first heat (7:25), Central blew past Seattle Pacific and Thomas Jefferson with a 7:13.14 to take first place and advance to the finals. UCO and Humboldt both moved into the Grand Final. Seattle Pacific and Embry-Riddle will join the two after finishing first and second respectively in Friday afternoon's repechage racing.
 
After the eights, the UCO fours came off the line flying down the waters at a high pace and never wavered in route to another Broncho victory. Central Oklahoma clocked an 8:13.81 to take first place over Seattle Pacific and Thomas Jefferson. Humboldt also won their heat race to advance to the Grand Final. Seattle Pacific and Western Washington will join the two after finishing first and second respectively in Friday afternoon's repechage racing.
 
Saturday's Grand Finals begin the Varsity 4+ at 11:12 a.m. (Eastern) and the Varsity 8+ will conclude the championships with its Grand Final at 12 p.m. (Eastern).
