UCO posted a team score of 299, 11-over-par, after 18 holes around the 6,938-yard track. Northeastern State is in first place after posting a 1-over-par 289. Washburn, Missouri Southern and Rogers State are also in front of UCO, and Central Missouri, which is tied alongside the Bronchos in fifth.

Kyle Hickey and Ross Taylor led the way for the Bronchos. Both are tied for 12th in the individual standings after shooting an opening round 2-over-par 74. Bennett Baldwin (75) and Caleb Kimmel (76) were also counted while Evan Griffith (78) rounded out the squad.

Hickey started off the day with four straight pars before bogeying the par-3 fifth at Silo Ridge. He got that stroke right back with a birdie on six. He did the same thing on 8 & 9 and finished the front 9 even par. Hickey had two bogeys on the back 9 to finish the day.

Taylor started the day off with a birdie on No. 1 and had seven more pars on the front 9 before finishing even par. He had one birdie and three bogeys on the back 9 to finish 2-over on the day.

Baldwin was 2-over after nine holes and had UCO's only double of the day on the par-4 16th. But he responded with back-to-back birdies to end the day and get back to 3-over par.

Kimmel had to work for his 4-over. He bogeyed each of the first three holes and four of the first five, but throughout his first round, sank four birdie putts to get back down to 4-over.

Griffith was 4-over on the front 9 and 2-over on the back 9 to finish with a 78.

Central Oklahoma is playing 54 holes in Bolivar this week as the Bronchos look to win their fourth MIAA Championship since 2013. UCO will play 18 more on Tuesday before wrapping up the tournament Wednesday.
