Sooner Invitational Up Next For UCO

NORMAN, Okla. – Central Oklahoma begins the two-day Sooner Invitational Friday at the University of Oklahoma's John Jacobs Track Complex.

Central Oklahoma will begin with two of its throwers competing Friday morning in the hammer throw. Tatum Robertson and Dahsauni Lyday will both compete in that event, and the two will return Friday afternoon for the shot put.

Dekayla Gaines will also be in action Friday night in the 100-meter dash prelims.

Lyday is also competing Saturday afternoon in the discus throw and will be joined by teammate Gracie Tytenicz. Gaines returns on Saturday for the 200-meter dash.

Noel Buckhaults, Gracie Sanders and Kylee Smith will all compete Saturday afternoon in the 1,500-meter run, with Buckhaults returning later in the evening in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Central's pole vault crew will be action this weekend as well. Talyn Been, Luz Lugo-Ponce, Jolie Oliver and Mattison Thetford are all entered in the event Saturday afternoon.

UCO is midway through Outdoor Track & Field season. The Bronchos are scheduled to visit Langston next weekend and Southwestern College (Kan.) later this month before the 2023 MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in May.
