UCO Finishes 11th In Texas

SPRING, Texas – Central Oklahoma wrapped up the Spring season-opening Southern Invite Tuesday at Cypresswood with an 11th-place finish.

UCO posted a 54-hole team score of 936, just one shot back of a Top 10 spot.

"We didn't play our best in any round," UCO head women's golf coach Michael Bond said. "We played a lot better in the second round yesterday, and we were close to that mark today, but we weren't at our best. This was a strong field, and we couldn't keep up."

Dallas Baptist won the team event with a score of 879 and had the individual medalist with a 54-hole even-par 216.

Madison O'Dell led the Bronchos with a 230 and was the most consistent player this week. After posting a 75 and 78 on Monday, O'Dell shot a 5-over 77 Tuesday to finish the tournament 14-over par.

That put O'Dell in a tie for 32nd. Mika Ramos tied for 36th with a 16-over 232. She posted rounds of 77 and 75 on Monday but followed with an 8-over 80 on Tuesday.

Jirasuda Khunarak wasn't far behind either of those two, finishing tied for 41st. She shot an 85 on Monday morning, rebounded with a 1-over 73 Monday afternoon, then finished the tournament Tuesday with a 4-over 76 to card a 234.

Emma Shelley was UCO's fourth counting score with a 54-hole 243 (85-81-77). Arin Zachary posted a 247 (84-79-84). Nanya Hinsui competed as an individual and posted a 251 (83-85-83).

Central Oklahoma is off next week but will be back on the course March 6-7 in Oklahoma City. The Bronchos are playing in Southern Nazarene's annual Diffee Ford-Lincoln Invite at Lincoln Park Golf Course.
