Bronchos Remain 11th In Florida

MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. – Central Oklahoma completed the second day of the Emerald Coast Collegiate and remained in 11th place in the 17-team field playing at Baytowne Golf Club.

UCO knocked five shots off its first-round score and turned in a 300 on Monday for a 36-hole score of 605. UT Tyler remains the leader in the team standings at 568. St. Mary's, Mississippi College, and Flagler are all tied for second with 585s. Washburn rounds out the top five teams with a 591.

Scarlet Sturch moved up the leaderboard after a strong Monday performance. The junior from Durant, Oklahoma shot a 2-over-par 73 and sits in 29th place individually with a 149 (76-73). She played the back nine 2-under par to start her second round.

Grace Hall is one shot back in 33rd place with a 150 (74-76). The freshman from Austin, Texas shot a 5-over 76 on Monday. Like Sturch, Hall also had two birdies to start the day on the back nine but made the turn to the front 2-over and finished 5-over for the day.

UCO junior Estela Castillo, from Spain, enters Tuesday's final round 10-over for the tournament. She followed a 7-over 78 on Sunday with a 3-over 74 on Monday. Castillo shot a 37 on both the back and front nines with three birdies on the day.

Layne Ailshie has posted back-to-back rounds of 6-over 77 for a 154. She made two birdie putts on Monday. MaKaylee Cowan is also in the lineup and has posted rounds of 80 & 77 for a 36-hole 157.

Central Oklahoma will tee off Tuesday morning in the third and final round of the Emerald Coast Collegiate.
