UCO Is Sixth At Grace Shin Invitational

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma opened its home tournament Monday morning and the Bronchos are in sixth place in the team standings following one round of play at The Golf Club of Edmond.

UCO shot a 301 as a team. Central Missouri (281), Harding (296), and Arkansas Tech (299) are top three in the field.

"We were inconsistent today," UCO head women's golf coach Michael Bond said. "We've been that way, we need to be more consistent. If we can play the way we're capable of, we'll be in a better position."

Jirasuda Khunarak and Emma Shelley led the Bronchos. Both shot 3-over-par 74s in the round. Mika Ramos (4-over) and Scarlet Sturch (7-over) also scored for the Bronchos. Estela Castillo was also in the lineup and shot an 8-over.

Central Oklahoma fielded two teams in the tournament. Its second team finished the opening round 11th of 16 teams in the field with a 312.

Nanya Hinsui led the team with a 5-over 76, and Drew Faires (77) and Mimi Hoang (78) were both right behind her. MaKaylee Cowan rounded out the team score with an 81.

Central Oklahoma wraps up the two-day event Tuesday at 9 a.m.
