Dahsauni Lyday Leads Top 10 Contingent

WICHITA, Kan. – Central Oklahoma registered five Top 10 finishes this weekend at Wichita State's Herm Wilson Invitational with standout results in from throws and distance events.

Dahsuani Lyday finished third in the shot put and sixth in the weight throw. Tatum Robertson posted a 10th-place finish in the weight throw. And Gracie Sanders added an eighth-place finish in the 3,000 meters to go with an 10th-place finish in the mile.

UCO also saw new personal bests from three new pole vaulters.

Talyn Been and Mattison Thetford both finished 12th in the pole vault at 3.14 meters and Jolie Oliver finished 18th at 2.69 meters. Luz Lugo-Ponce also hit the same measure as Oliver.

Jakobi Bartling competed in the high jump but did not score. She finished 15th in the long jump with a mark of 4.31 meters.

A trio of sprinters also competed this weekend. In the 60-meter dash, Ty Delaney finished 14th (8.09 seconds), Dekayla Gaines finished 24th (8.23) and Kyrese Richard finished 44th (8.66). In the 200, it was Gaines that finished 14th with a time of 27.13 seconds. Delaney finished 30th (28.21) and Richard 45th (29.82).

Seydi Blount joined Sanders in both the 3,000 meters and the 1-mile races. She finished 13th in the mile with a time of 11:55.94 and she took 18th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 5:54.82.

Central Oklahoma has competed in each of the last two weekends and the Bronchos will compete again in each of the next two. UCO is visiting Washburn in Topeka, Kansas next weekend before a trip to Pittsburg State in Pittsburg, Kansas in two weeks.
