No. 11 Central Oklahoma Hosts Nebraska Kearney

EDMOND – No. 11 Central Oklahoma is back on its home pitch this weekend for a pair of MIAA matches.
 
UCO hosts Nebraska Kearney Friday at 7 p.m. at Tom Thompson Field. The Bronchos are also scheduled to host Fort Hays State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
Central Oklahoma is 7-1-2 this season and the Bronchos have a 2-1-0 record in MIAA competition. Nebraska Kearney is 0-8-2 overall this season and 0-2-1 in league play.
 
The Bronchos enter the weekend averaging 2.2 goals per game through 10 games played. UCO averages 13.7 shots per game and has put 66 shots on goal.
 
UCO has been led by Madison Linavong, among others. The sophomore midfielder has three goals scored and a team-high eight assists, which ranks fifth nationally.
 
Amaya Grace leads the Bronchos with four goals scored and she also has one assist. Eden Jones and Monika McGee are also tied with Linavong with three goals scored this season.
 
Lauren Piper, Emily Tincher and Adria Ramirez all have scored twice this season. Ramirez was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week earlier this week.
 
Defensively, Central Oklahoma is allowing 0.9 goals per game, having conceded nine goals in 10 matches. The Bronchos hold opponents to 9.6 shots per game.
 
Avery Bass and Caroline Faulkner have done a bulk of the workload in goal for UCO. Bass is 4-1-0 in five games, playing 450 minutes in goal. She has made 22 saves and only allowed four goals. Faulkner is 3-0-2 and has played 376 minutes in five games. She has made 17 saves and allowed just three goals.
 
Nebraska Kearney has scored four goals in 10 games this season. The Lopers have allowed 22 goals.
 
Fort Hays State will be in Edmond on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers play at Newman on Friday night. FHSU is 7-0-3 overall this season and has a 2-0-1 record in league play.
