UCO Wraps Up DBU Classic

DENTON, Texas – Central Oklahoma wrapped up the season-opening Dallas Baptist Classic Tuesday with the third and final round at Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch.

UCO finished 16th in the team standings.

"While we aren't happy about our results, we know there's room to grow and get better," UCO head women's golf coach Michael Bond said. "We know we can play better, and we know we can get better. We just have to learn from this and be ready for the next one."

Central Oklahoma had a 54-hole score of 927 (299-316-312). Henderson State won the event with a team score of 858. Lynn's Maria Hoyos won the individual title with a 12-under 204.

Mika Ramos was Central Oklahoma's high finisher. The junior shot a 54-hole 10-over 226. Her 5-over 77 Tuesday was also Central's best round of the day.

Madison O'Dell was two shots back at the end of the tourney, posting a 12-over 228. Emma Shelley (234) and Nanya Hinsui (240) rounded out the scoring for the Bronchos.

Central Oklahoma's 2022-23 season is now underway. The Dallas Baptist Classic is the first of four consecutive weeks of tournaments for the Bronchos.

UCO will play at Fort Hays State's Lady Tiger Classic next Monday before hosting the Grace Shin Invitational at the Golf Club of Edmond Oct. 3-4. Central Oklahoma is also scheduled to compete in the National Preview at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri Oct. 10-11.

The Bronchos close out the Fall portion of their schedule Oct. 24-25 in the Tulsa Cup at Broken Arrow's Forest Ridge.
