Minter, Lynch, Gilbert Earn All-Region Honors

EDMOND (May 11) – A trio of Central Oklahoma players earned All-Central Region honors on a pair of teams that were announced Wednesday.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) named outfielder Jacee Minter to the first-team unit and pitcher Kylee Lynch to the second-team squad. Minter was also a first-team selection on the Conference Commissioner's Association, while Lynch and shortstop Brighton Gilbert nabbed second-team recognition.

Minter advances to the All-America ballot for both organizations along with first-team selections from the other seven regions.

Minter carries a .422 average with 23 doubles, 12 home runs and 68 runs batted in heading into the Central Regional II Tournament that the Bronchos are hosting Thursday-Saturday.

The Edmond sophomore is tied for the Division II lead in doubles and ranks fourth in RBIs. She's second on UCO's single-season list for doubles, one off the record of 24 set by JoBi Heath in 2019, and is tied for fourth in RBIs.

Lynch has put together an outstanding season in the circle fo the Bronchos, having appeared in 36 games with 29 starts. The left-hander is 24-3 with three saves, 19 complete games and a 1.88 earned run average.

A sophomore from Chandler, Lynch ranks sixth nationally in wins, which is also fifth on UCO's single-season chart. She's ninth in single-season innings pitched (186 2/3) and already rates sixth in school career wins with 49.

Gilbert is batting .318 with 19 RBIs and 11 stolen bases while also spearheading UCO's nation-best defense. The MIAA Defensive Player of the Year has just six errors in 200 fielding chances this season.

The Chickasha senior has racked up 130 assists, the fifth-best single-season total in school history.
