No. 1 Central Oklahoma Hosts Creighton

OKLAHOMA CITY – No. 1 Central Oklahoma is back on the water Saturday for a non-conference cross-divisional dual with Creighton, beginning just after 9 a.m. on the Oklahoma River.

Central Oklahoma will race two Varsity 8+ boats as well as two Varsity 4+ contests.

"This will be a good test for us," UCO head rowing coach Brian Ebke said. "As we're getting into a routine of things this Spring this will be a good test. It's not going to be great conditions and we had that last Saturday but it will be good competition and will help us continue to grow and get better."

Central Oklahoma's top V8 boat will be led again by All-American and three-time national champion Madisyn Kitchell. The coxswain will lead the first race at 9:10 a.m.

Faith Brooks, Keyna Holleman, Hope Brooks, Danielle Dick, Kenna Chamlee, Allison Staley, Sage Kroeker and Keondra Whisenhunt make up the crew.

The second race is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and that will have Central's Varsity 4+ boat as well as a second four.

Yesenia Gil-Salazar, also a national champion coxswain, will lead the V4+ with Kelsey Woellmer, Morgan McBurnett, Danielle Holle and Sinead Quirke.

Emily Overholt will lead the second boat with Anya Landrowski, Macie Cohlmia, Allie Schein and Tori Alldredge.

UCO will also have a second 8+ boat competing later Saturday morning. Kyla Vorel will head up the race with Audra Hempfling, Katelyn Hedger, Kylie Egan, Ashley Brady, Peyton Meiler, Meg Davis, Caleah Oliver and Maison Smith.
