The three-day event kicked off Friday with the pentathlon but UCO didn't have anyone entered in the event. The Bronchos revved up on Saturday with six events.

Harlie Hanson highlighted the group's efforts with another record-setting performance. The senior distance runner finished seventh in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 17:52.70, setting a new school record.

The old record, which belonged to Hanson in the first place, was 18:09.20 set in February 2020. Hanson set the record that day by beating her previous school record mark of 18:30.65 set in December 2019.

Hanson garnered two points for the Bronchos with her finish Saturday.

She returned Sunday to race in the 3,000 meters. She finished 13th with a time of 10:20.13, her personal second-best mark.

Ansley Scott has had a stellar freshman season for the Bronchos this winter. She was at it again this weekend. Scott qualified for the 400-meter finals with a dashing performance Saturday in the prelims. She ran 57.75 seconds, a personal best and the best time by a Broncho this season. That mark put her eighth in the standings and set her up for Sunday's championship race.

Sunday, Scott topped that time for a new personal best. She ran the 400 in 56.93 seconds for an eighth-place finish and one team point for the Bronchos.

Scott also ran the 200 meters Saturday and narrowly missed qualifying for the championship race. She finished ninth in the prelims with a time of 25.11 seconds. It did set a personal best for Scott this season and is also the best time by a Broncho this season.

Kaleigh Dyas competed Saturday in the 60-meter dash. She finished 12th with a time of 7.74 seconds. It was the fastest time by a Broncho this season. Scott's 7.76 earned her first place at Kansas State last weekend. Dyas did not advance to the finals.

Central also had a trio of throwers compete Saturday. Dahsauni Lyday, Tatum Robertson and Eve Brennan all took on the field in the weight throw. Lyday finished 12th with a mark of 15.01 meters, Robertson was 18th with a 13.62-meter throw, and Brennan finished 19th with her toss of 13.43 meters.

All three returned Sunday to compete in the shot put. Lyday had an NCAA provisional qualifying mark earlier this season. She threw 13.71 meters to eclipse the 13.70 mark set by the NCAA. Sunday she threw 12.77 meters for a fifth place finish in the MIAA Championship. That earned UCO four more team points.

Robertson finished 14th (11.20m) and Brennan finished 15th (11.03m).

Jordan Chancellor, who hasn't competed since Jan. 29, finished 24th in the long jump with a mark of 4.57 meters. Cali Dorman and Jacie Edwards also joined Scott in the 400 meters. The duo finished 15th and 16th respectively with times of 1:01.72 and 1:07.22.

Central returned to finish out the championships on Sunday. Arizona Hummingbird's 16th-place finish in the mile started the day for the Bronchos. She crossed the finish line in 5:18.02. Hummingbird also ran with Hanson in the 3,000 meters. She finished 26th (10:59.55).
