UCO Third At Grace Shin Invitational

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma opened the 2022 Grace Shin Invitational at The Golf Club of Edmond Monday morning and the Bronchos are sitting in third after one round of play.

Central Oklahoma posted a team score of 304 in the first round. Oklahoma City leads the field after an even-par 284.

Madison O'Dell is tied for fourth in the individual standings. She posted a 2-over 73. Arin Zachary is tied for 10th at 4-over 75. Jirasuda Khunrak and Emma Shelley both posted 7-over 78s in the first round and Mika Ramos posted a 79. Nanya Hinsui is competing as an individual and posted an 86.

O'Dell started her day on No. 2 with a par and by the end of the front nine was 1-over. She played the back nine with six pars, two bogeys and one birdie. Her par on No. 1 kept her at 2-over for the day. O'Dell birdied the par-5 No. 6 and the par-4 No. 13.

Zachary started the day on No. 3 and also opened with a par. Despite a double on No. 4, the fourth-year junior worked with one birdie and another bogey to make the turn at +2. She was 6-over after the back nine, but finished her day with back-to-back birdies on No. 1 and No. 2 to get back down to 4-over par for the day.

Khunarak and Shelley both posted eight pars on the day with two birdies each. Ramos had 11 pars on the day.

Central Oklahoma will wrap up the two-day, 36-hole event Tuesday morning with all teams beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

UCO is heading to Eureka, Missouri next week for the Division II National Preview and the Bronchos will close out the Fall semester Oct. 24-25 at The Tulsa Cup.
