UCO In Third At MIAA Championships

Bronchos Finish First Round Two Shots Off Lead In Warrensburg

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Oklahoma is in third place after the first round of the 2026 MIAA Women's Golf Championship at Mules National Golf Course.

UCO posted a 308 after one trip around the 5,609-yard Par 70 course. Nebraska Kearney and host Central Missouri are tied for first after shooting 306s on Monday. Northwest Missouri (309) and Rogers State (312) round out the top five.

The second round begins Tuesday morning and the 13 MIAA teams will compete for the league championship with the final round on Wednesday.

Grace Hall and MaKaylee Cowan are both tied for sixth place on the individual leaderboard after shooting a 6-over-par 76s on Monday.

Hall had two of Central's three birdies on the day. She sank the first one on No. 9 and made the turn at even par. She made another on No. 15 to get back to 1-over, but finished with a bogey and two doubles to end the day with a 76.

Cowan was first off the tee for the Bronchos and was 2-over on the front nine before a 4-over on the back nine. Cowan sank 12 par putts to counter her six bogeys.

Scarlet Sturch and Layne Ailshie are tied for 18th individually after shooting 8-over-par 78s on Monday. Sturch shot 40-38 and Ailshie 38-40. Ailshie was the last to tee off and sank a birdie on the Par 3 18th.

Estela Castillo is also in the lineup and shot a 10-over 80 on Monday. The junior had 11 pars to counter five bogeys and two doubles.
