Bronchos Move Up One Spot In National Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 24) – Central Oklahoma moved up one spot to No. 18 in the weekly American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division II rankings that were released Monday.
 
The Bronchos of head coach Edgar Miraku earned 33 points in balloting of 48 head coaches from around the country. Metropolitan State-Denver took over the No. 1 spot, followed by Concordia-St. Paul, Wayne State, Southwest Minnesota and Tampa.

Three other Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association teams are in the rankings. Nebraska-Kearney is at No. 8, while Northwest Missouri is No. 12 and Washburn No. 14. UCO has beaten all three of those teams this season, completing a home-and-home sweep of Washburn last Friday with an epic five-set win.

The Bronchos, 22-4 on the season and 12-4 in league play, finish their 2022 home schedule this week with two MIAA matches. UCO hosts Central Missouri Thursday and Missouri Western Friday, with a 6 p.m. start both days at Hamilton Field House.
