Central Oklahoma Visits Washburn

Two Teams Tied For Third Play In Topeka Friday Night

TOPEKA, Kan. – Central Oklahoma is scheduled to play four road games to finish the 2022 regular season and the first of those is Friday night at Washburn. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
UCO is 9-2-3 this season and has a 4-2-1 record in MIAA play. The Bronchos are tied with Washburn for third place in the league standings. The Ichabods are 9-3-2 overall and also 4-2-1 in the MIAA.
 
"Playing on the road is hard in this league and we're going to need to show up focused and ready to play," UCO head women's soccer coach Mike Cook said. "Washburn is playing really good this season and we need to be focused on executing our gameplan."
 
Central Oklahoma enters the weekend averaging 1.86 goals per game. The Bronchos take 14.2 shots per game and have put 95 shots on goal this season.
 
Amaya Grace, with five goals, leads the Broncho offense. The junior forward also has two assists. Madison Linavong adds four goals and eight assists. The latter leads the MIAA. Monika McGee is the third Bronchos with four goals.
 
Eden Jones and Lauren Piper each has three goals scored this season. Emily Tincher and Adria Ramirez each have two goals scored.
 
UCO's defense is allowing 0.86 goals per game and opponents take 10.7 shots per game against the Bronchos.
 
Central has used multiple goalkeepers this season. Caroline Faulkner has done most of the work as of late. The sophomore is 4-1-3 in goal with a 0.83 goals against average. She has 37 saves and has allowed just six goals in more than 646 minutes.
 
Washburn averages 1.57 goals per game and the Ichabods allow 0.79 per contest. WU is led by Khloe Schuckman, who has a team-high six goals and a team-high three assists. Jaedyn Johnson has scored five goals and also has the team high with three assists. Belle Kennedy adds four goals.
 
Raegan Wells has played all 1,260 minutes in goal and has a 0.79 goals against average, having conceded only 11 goals in 14 games this season. Wells has 49 saves.
 
Central Oklahoma will also pay a visit to Emporia, Kansas on Sunday afternoon. The Bronchos take on Emporia State at 1 p.m. UCO will wrap up the regular season next weekend with a trip to Rogers State and Newman.
