Central Earns Several Academic Awards

Tennis Team Honored Along With Seven Student-Athletes For Academic Success

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Tuesday its postseason academic awards and the University of Central Oklahoma was well represented.

Central Oklahoma earned the All-Academic Team award and seven student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
 
Adel-Byanu Abidullina, Nikki Boyar, Mae Canete, Isabella Dunlap, Paola Landin, Lotte Lesscher Y Post, and Lexi Penn all earned the title Scholar Athlete for their successes in the classroom. To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 grade point average for the current year and be eligible at their respective institution.
 
The team academic award carried a required 3.2 combined GPA for all members of the team.
 
Central Oklahoma went 21-2 this past season, winning a conference and regional title before finishing as a national semifinalist.
