Central Hosts NSU, Fort Smith

Bronchos Play Final Two Home Matches This Week

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma hosts Northeastern State and Arkansas Fort Smith this weekend in a pair of MIAA matches.
 
UCO is 12-3 overall this season and 4-1 in the MIAA. The Bronchos are No. 35 in the country in this week's ITA rankings. Northeastern State is 10-6 overall and 3-2 in the MIAA. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday.
 
Mei Hasegawa and Pete Komada are both ranked as individuals in this week's rankings and the two are also ranked as a doubles team. Hasegawa is No. 22 in this week's ITA Singles Top 75 and Komada is No. 61. The duo is ranked No. 10 in this week's ITA Doubles Top 50.
 
Hasegawa is 12-1 this season, all at the No. 1 spot in the lineup. The sophomore is 5-0 in MIAA matches. Komada is 13-2 overall with a 4-1 record in league matches. Together, the duo is 12-2 overall and 5-0 in the MIAA.
 
UCO as a team is one of the best doubles programs in the country. The Bronchos have won the doubles point in 13 of 15 matches this season and Central has swept all three positions in 10 matches, including six in a row. UCO is a combined 15-0 in MIAA doubles matches.
 
Anika Ouwejan is 8-5 this season playing at No. 3 singles for the Bronchos. Karyna Yurchenko is 10-1, with a 4-1 record at No. 4 singles and a 5-0 mark at No. 5 singles. Ayaka Koga (4-6) and Hui Soo (8-5) have helped at multiple positions at the back of the UCO lineup.
 
Ouwejan and Koga have a 13-1 doubles record and Yurchenko and Soo are 8-2 together.
 
Central Oklahoma will also host Arkansas Fort Smith on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Lions are 3-12 overall this season with a 1-4 record in the MIAA.
 
UCO finishes the regular season on the road next week at Fort Hays State and Nebraska Kearney. The 2026 MIAA Women's Tennis Championships are scheduled for May 1-3 in Springfield, Missouri.
