Brooke Moore's Late Strike Sends Bronchos To Final

EMPORIA, Kan. - The University of Central Oklahoma soccer team beat Emporia State 1-0 Thursday to advance to the MIAA Spring Soccer Tournament Championship.

Brooke Moore scored the lone goal in the 80th minute, fighting her way to a long ball that gave her a clean look on the left side of the box. Moore's strike was all that was needed Thursday.

Kaitlyn Asher kept another clean sheet in goal for the Bronchos. She made eight saves in the game.

Central Oklahoma's defense faced 21 shots Thursday. The win by the Bronchos handed sixth-ranked Emporia State (9-1) its only loss of the season. It is also the first win by any team at Emporia since 2017.

Central Oklahoma will now face Missouri Western, which tied Northeastern State 3-3 and advanced on penalty kicks 3-2 Thursday night, in the 2021 MIAA Spring Soccer Tournament Championship scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday at Tom Thompson Field.
