Central Competes In Regional Preview

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Central Oklahoma men's golf team wrapped up play at the Regional Preview Tuesday at Shoal Creek Golf Club.

The Bronchos finished the 36-hole tournament with a 633 after posting rounds of 326 and 307.

Caleb Kimmel led Central's effort with a 157. The freshman shot a 10-over-par 81 on Monday but responded with a 5-over 76 Tuesday.

Ethan Galvan, also a freshman, was second in the lineup with a 159. He posted a 13-over-par 84 Monday but responded with a much improved 4-over 75 Tuesday, Central's lowest second-round score.

Evan Griffith, a freshman, shot rounds of 81 and 79 to finish at 160.

Peyton Knell, the elder statesman of the squad, shot a 161 to round out Central's scoring. He shot 84 Monday and 77 Tuesday.

Each of the top four for Central improved their scores from the first to the second round.

Parker Rose also shot a 164 (80-84).

Central Oklahoma is heading back to Missouri next week. The Bronchos will compete in Central Missouri's The Mule at Mules National in Warrensburg, Mo.
