Central Oklahoma Hosts Washburn

EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma soccer team is scheduled to host Washburn Saturday at 1 p.m. at Tom Thompson Field.

Central Oklahoma is 2-1 during its modified spring season following the cancellation of its tradition fall campaign. The Bronchos have wins over Midwestern State (1-0) and Oklahoma Christian (3-1) but are looking to bounce back after a loss at home against Emporia State (4-1) last Saturday.

Taryn Kedzior scored the lone goal for the Bronchos in the loss to Emporia. The junior left back has played a bigger role moving up on the left side of the field for the Bronchos and has two goals this spring in just three games.

Kaylee Collins and Monika McGee also scored goals for Central in the win over Oklahoma Christian. Emily Tincher scored the lone goal for UCO in the win at Midwestern State last month.

Kaitlyn Asher has played 135 minutes in goal in two appearances this spring. She has seven saves and has allowed four goals. Caroline Faulkner has played 90 minutes in goal in two appearances this season and has one save with no goals allowed. Kelsi Gibson has played 45 minutes this season and has one save and one goal allowed.

Central Oklahoma will have a short break following the Washburn game. The Bronchos don't play again until April 1 at Fort Hays State. UCO will host Newman April 3 for its next scheduled home match.
