UCO Sixth In Midwestern Invitational

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (March 15) – The Central Oklahoma women's golf team is in sixth place after first-day play in the Midwestern State Invitational Monday.

The Bronchos had rounds of 317-315 for a 632 total after two trips around the 5,836-yard, par-72 Wichita Falls Country Club. Oklahoma Christian leads the 12-team event at 607, followed by St. Mary's (625), West Texas A&M (625), Midwestern State (626), Angelo State (628) and UCO.

Final-round play begins at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Emma Shelley led Central on the opening day with rounds of 76-78 for a 154 total that has her tied for ninth in the individual standings. Susana Olivares is tied for 13th at 156 after shooting consecutive 78s.

Sydney Roberts is also among the top 20 as the senior is tied for 19th with a 158 total following rounds of 78-80. The Bronchos also got rounds of 83-84 from Madison O'Dell and 86-81 from Kinsley Hall.

Mika Ramos shot 81-86 competing as an individual medalist.
