Spring Soccer Continues Saturday

EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma soccer team is scheduled to continue its spring season trek Saturday when the Bronchos host Emporia State.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Tom Thompson Field.

UCO has a pair of wins this spring. The Bronchos went to Midwestern State and picked up a 1-0 victory on the road before beating Oklahoma Christian 3-1 last Saturday.

Defensively, Central has been solid in the early goings this spring. Freshman goalkeeper Caroline Faulkner has played 45 minutes in each of the first two games and has yet to allow a goal. Kaitlyn Asher also has 45 minutes in goal and has not allowed a goal.

On offense, the Bronchos have four goals this spring from four different players.

Freshman Emily Tincher scored the lone goal in the UCO win at Midwestern State. Monika McGee, Kaylee Collins and Taryn Kedzior each scored against Oklahoma Christian.

Central has taken 21 total shots in two games and has put 15 of those on goal.

UCO will pick back up next week as its spring soccer schedule rolls along. The Bronchos host Washburn next Saturday in Edmond.
