UCO Up To Fourth In Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Central Oklahoma soccer team moved up one spot in this week's NCAA Central Region rankings, announced Wednesday.

The top eight teams in the Central Region can qualify for the NCAA National Tournament later this month. Three automatic qualifications are taken from the postseason tournament champions of the MIAA, the Great American Conference, and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference with five at-large bids also earning a spot in the 56-team national tournament.

Central Oklahoma has made 14 trips to the national tournament in 23 seasons since the Bronchos began competing in women's soccer in 1998.

Central finished the 2021 regular season 12-4-2 and is preparing for the MIAA Championship Quarterfinal Sunday. UCO will host Missouri Western in the first round of the conference postseason tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. at Tom Thompson Field.
