EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma soccer team hosts Newman Friday at 7 p.m. at Tom Thompson Field in the annual Pink Game for the Bronchos.

Eden Jones equalized in the second half to preserve a point for the Bronchos on the road.

That match was the second of seven consecutive games the Bronchos did not lose. Central is aiming for a new streak Friday after splitting a pair of games last weekend.

Defensively, Central allows 1.06 goals per game, which is tied for second in the MIAA. The Bronchos only allow opponents to take 9.6 shots per game.

Newman averages 0.57 goals per game. The Jets have scored in just seven of 15 matches this season. Newman's two goals against Central Oklahoma on Sept. 19 is the only game the Jets have scored more than once in any game this season.

UCO has one more regular season game left after Friday night. The Bronchos host Rogers State Sunday at 1 p.m. UCO will honor its seniors before the game.

The 2021 MIAA Championship is scheduled to begin Sunday, Nov. 7. The Bronchos have already clinched a spot in the eight-team tournament. The top four seeds host the next four at their respective campus sites. The highest remaining seed in the semifinals will host all remaining teams for that round as well as the final Nov. 12 & 14.
