Kedzior was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week and Asher MIAA Goalkeeper of the Week following their standout performances last weekend in a crucial pair of wins for Central.

Kedzior, a junior from Claremore, Oklahoma, did her part in slowing down the league's leading goal scorer as Central Oklahoma handed No. 3 Emporia State its first loss of the season Friday night in Edmond. The former MIAA Freshman of the Year Kedzior, now in her fourth year in the program, limited nearly every opportunity Mackenzie Dimarco and the Hornets went for Friday, limiting the forward to only two shots in the game.

Kedzior then came back on Sunday afternoon and helped the Bronchos to their seventh shutout of the season with a 1-0 win against Washburn. She helped hold the team to just 10 total shots in 90 minutes and also added the one UCO goal on a free-kick from 20 yards to help the Bronchos to victory.

Asher, a senior from Bixby, Oklahoma, earned two wins this weekend in goal for the Bronchos, including the big upset of previously unbeaten and third-ranked Emporia State. Asher made a career-high nine saves Friday night as the Bronchos slowed down the best player in the league and handed the Hornets their first loss of the season.

Asher then came back for another full 90 on Sunday and earned her seventh shutout of the season with a 1-0 victory over Washburn. She made five saves Sunday in the win.

Central Oklahoma is 10-3-1 this season overall and has a 6-1-0 record in the MIAA. The Bronchos are in second place in the league standings with four games remaining before the postseason. UCO travels to Northwest Missouri Friday night and will play at Missouri Western Sunday before wrapping up the 2021 regular season Oct. 29 & 31 in Edmond.

The MIAA Championship begins Sunday, Nov. 7 with the top four seeds hosting the next four at campus sites. The highest remaining seed in the semifinals will host the advancing squads and the 2021 MIAA Championship match Nov. 12 & 14.
