Soccer Claims Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches organization announced Thursday the Team Academic Award winners for the 2019-20 year and the University of Central Oklahoma women's soccer team once again made the list.

This is the 10th year overall that Central has earned the award.

"I'm really proud of our team," UCO head soccer coach Mike Cook said. "They work just as hard in the classroom as they do on the field. For them to balance soccer and their academics the way they do is unresolved, and they should be really proud of this accomplishment."

College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2019-20 academic year.

Central Oklahoma had a combined 3.36 team grade point average.

The award began in 1996 and Central's soccer history began in 1998. The Bronchos have earned the honor in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2020.
