"I'm proud of our team for getting started on the right foot," UCO head tennis coach Jaron Maestas said. "The fall tournaments are a good way for us to measure where we're at and I think the team performed very well this weekend."

Isabella Dunlap, who as a freshman was the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's national runner-up and an All-American, got her sophomore season started where she left off last spring. The Edmond, Okla. native went 3-0 in Flight 1 to capture the title.

Paola Landin earned a second-place finish in Flight 2, winning her first two matches in straight sets before dropping the title match. Mariona Franco Martin lost her first match, but then came back to win two in a row for a consolation title in Flight 3.

Patricia Gribi also dropped her first match, but then made the consolation final with a straight-set semi-final win. She finished 1-2 on the weekend in Flight 4. Nikki Boyar took on Flight 5 for the Bronchos, and like Dunlap, the sophomore went 3-0 and claimed a title.

Lotte Lesscher Y Post won her first match of the day, but the junior transfer then dropped her next two to finish Flight 6 1-2. Jessica Le's trip through Flight 7 saw a first-round victory and a third-place victory to end the weekend 2-1. And in Flight 8, freshman Lexi Penn went 2-0 to win a title of her own.

Dunlap and Landin, who were an All-American doubles team last season, flexed their power right of the gate in 2019-20 this weekend. The pair went 3-0 to capture the Flight 1 Doubles title.

Lesscher Y Post and Franco Martin teamed up for a Flight 2 Doubles pairing and after dropping their first match, responded with back-to-back wins and a consolation title.

In Flight 3 Doubles, Boyar and Penn mirrored the success of Dunlap and Landin and cruised through for a 3-0 weekend and another title.

Lastly, Gribi and Le teamed up in Flight 3 Doubles and went win-loss-win for a third-place finish.

Central Oklahoma returns to action this weekend and is at home. UCO fans can catch their nationally-rated tennis team at Broncho Courts Saturday and Sunday in the Broncho Invite.
