Central Oklahoma Begins Search For Next Head Women's Tennis Coach

EDMOND – UCO head women's tennis coach Joe Vann resigned to accept a coaching position at another school, Vice President for Athletics Stan Wagnon announced Monday.

"We want to thank coach Vann for his contribution to our program," Wagnon said. "He had a very successful run with the Bronchos, leading UCO to multiple MIAA titles, NCAA Championship appearances, and the most successful season in school history. We wish him the best in his future."

A search for the next head coach is already underway.

Vann came to UCO in 2021 and had immediate success. In his first season in 2022, Vann led the Bronchos to a 24-2 overall record, the MIAA regular season and postseason titles, and a spot in the Division II national championship match. UCO finished national runner-up, the best finish in school history.

Vann posted a 73-34 overall record in five seasons. The Bronchos won the MIAA regular season title in 2022 and 2026, while taking the MIAA postseason tournament championship title in 2022, 2025, and 2026. UCO qualified for the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship in 2022, 2023, 2025, and 2026.
