No. 14 Central Hosts Hillcats

EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma soccer team is scheduled to play its final non-conference match of the season Friday when the 14th-ranked Bronchos take on Rogers State at Tom Thompson Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Central Oklahoma is unbeaten in 2019, with a 4-0-2 record on the season. The Bronchos put a four-game win streak in between a pair of ties. Rogers State is 3-2-1.
 
The Hillcats of Claremore, Okla. are now conference opponents of the Bronchos for the first time this season, though Friday's match is a non-conference contest. The two schools will meet again on the final day of the regular season, Sunday, Nov. 3, in Claremore in an MIAA matchup.
 
UCO enters Friday's match averaging 3.67 goals per game. That mark ranks eighth in the nation and is the best mark of any MIAA school. The Bronchos take an average 24 shots per game and have a 10.8 shots on goal per game mark.
 
Asha Haile and Kelsie Eason lead the Bronchos with six goals apiece.
 
Haile, whose 39 career goals rank fourth in UCO history, also has a team-high 21 shots and a team-high 12 shots on goal. The senior forward from Norman, Okla. has one assist on the season.
 
Eason's six goals is tied with Haile, her 21 shots taken is also tied for the team high. She has put 11 shots on goal. Eason has the team high in total points (16) thanks to four assists on the season. The returning All-American midfielder from Bartlesville, Okla. ranks 17th nationally in goals scored, 11th in assists, and 13th in points.
 
Hannah Daaboul, Haley Post, and Eden Jones each have two goals. Nine different Bronchos have scored a goal this season.
 
Defensively, Central allows 1.33 goals per game. The Bronchos have given up eight goals in six games. UCO has a pair of shutouts, beating East Central 6-0 on Sept. 18 and holding Newman scoreless in a 0-0 tie last Sunday.
 
Kelsey Gordon, another Broncho returning All-American, Taryn Kedzior, Cali Walker and Meredith Wilson have all played vital roles on the back line to keep opponents off the scoreboard.
 
Kaitlyn Asher has stepped into the role of primary goalkeeper for the Bronchos. UCO has used all three of its keepers in six games, but Asher has played a team-high 400 minutes. She has both shutouts to her record and has allowed just four goals in that 400 minutes, a 0.90 goals against average. Asher has 16 saves.
 
Rogers is led by Laurelle Theodore, who has three goals and two assists. Kori Watters has two goals and three assists as she also leads the team. Anita Gaspar (two) and Bria Salazar and Hannah Mushisky have also scored.
 
RSU averages 1.50 goals per game, scoring nine times in six games. The Hillcats have given up eight goals, a 1.33 goals against average. ReVella Fisher has played all 560 minutes in goal for Rogers State this season and has 32 saves and three shutouts.
