No. 9 UCO Visits Cameron

LAWTON, Okla. – The University of Central Oklahoma tennis team is set to take on Cameron Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex.
 
Central Oklahoma is 14-3 overall this season and just wrapped up an 8-1 record in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. Cameron, of the Lone Star Conference, is 7-12 overall and 3-4 in league play.
 
UCO is on a two-game win streak heading into Wednesday's match. The Bronchos are working on a new streak after posting 11-straight wins earlier this season.
 
Central Oklahoma is led into the week yet again by its strong freshmen class.
 
Adel-Byanu Abidullina was named MIAA Player of the Week this week after going 3-0 last week. She's 27-5 this season (12-3 in singles, 15-2 in doubles) and has a 16-0 record in league duals (7-0 singles, 9-0 doubles). The Moscow, Russia native is ranked 17th in the country and has won her last five singles matches.
 
Isabella Dunlap is ranked sixth in the country. She is 9-6 in singles matches and has a 10-5 record in doubles play. Nikki Boyar is 11-5 in singles and 12-3 in doubles.
 
Paola Landin, a sophomore, is a Broncho-best 17-1 in singles this season and has a 10-5 doubles record. She's ranked 74th in the country in singles and, with Dunlap, is ranked 12th in the country in doubles.
 
UCO will move on from Cameron to take on Midwestern State Thursday at 2 p.m. Also an LSC squad, MSU is 13-5 this season.
 
Following its final two regular season matches this week, Central Oklahoma will turn its prep to the MIAA Postseason Tournament in Oklahoma City next weekend. The Bronchos are hosting the tournament at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center Friday, April 27 – Sunday, April 29. UCO earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament.
