Kaitlyn Asher Named MIAA Goalkeeper of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its women's soccer athletes of the week Wednesday and University of Central Oklahoma goalkeeper Kaitlyn Asher was named MIAA Goalkeeper of the Week for the second week in a row and the third time this season.

Asher helped the Bronchos go 2-0 last week, winning a pair of MIAA road games. The Bronchos beat Newman on Friday night and Rogers State on Sunday to secure a home playoff game next week. Asher was instrumental in the wins, collecting two shutouts on the week. UCO won both games 1-0.
 
Asher, a junior from Bixby, Okla., is 10-3-2 this season with a sparkling 0.80 goals against average. She's made 39 saves and also has five shutouts on the season.
 
Central Oklahoma enters the MIAA Tournament this weekend. The Bronchos host Fort Hays State Friday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals.
