Bronchos Finish Fall Season In Arkansas

The Central Oklahoma women's golf team wraps up its fall schedule this week when the Bronchos travel to Danville, Ark. for the Arkansas Tech Invitational.

First-round play in the two-day, 36-hole tournament at the Chamberlyne Country Club opens at 10 a.m. Monday, with the final round in the the 15-team even set to tee off at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

UCO followed an eighth-place showing in its first tournament of the fall with finishes of fourth, first and second in the last three.

"We've had a good fall season and we're looking to finish it off on a positive note," head coach Michael Bond said. "This is a good tournament with a strong field on a really nice course and our girls are excited about the challenge."

Making up Central's five-person lineup will be senior Sydney Roberts, junior Kinsley Hall, sophomore Madison O'Dell and freshmen Susana Olivares and Emma Shelley.

Olivares has been outstanding this fall and leads the Bronchos with a stellar 71.9 scoring average. The rookie sensation finished fourth and 10th in the first two tournaments of her collegiate career and has won the last two, shooting a collective four-under-par in claiming titles in the UCO Classic and the Midwest Classic.

O'Dell has a 75.3 average with three top-20 finishes in four fall tournaments, while Roberts is at 77.75, Shelley 78.50 and Hall 81.50.
