EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma men's basketball team will take on Missouri Southern on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 3:30 p.m. in Hamilton Field House. The Bronchos are 8-8 overall and 1-6 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics play after falling to Pittsburg State on Thursday. Missouri Southern is 13-4 in the regular season and 4-3 in the conference.
 
"This is going to be another big test for us." UCO head coach Tom Hankins said. "They beat us at their place earlier in the season and we need to come out ready to play. They are really athletic and have play-makers, so we are going to have to be disciplined in what we do."
 
Adarius Avery leads the way for UCO averaging 19.8 points and ten rebounds per game. The Memphis, Tenn. native is ranked fourth in the MIAA in scoring and leads the league in rebounding. He has scored double figures in all 16 games this season.
 
Ashford Golden averages 15.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. He leads the Bronchos in blocks with 10. Jaylan Williams averages 7.9 points and 3.3 rebounds.
 
Josh Holliday has 22 made 3-pointers on the season, one below Golden's team-high 23, and averages 7.6 points per game. Marquis Johnson has 47 assists and averages 7.5 points.
 
UCO shoots 44 percent from the floor as a team and averages 78.9 points a game. The Bronchos are averaging 80 percent from the free-throw line, leading the MIAA.
 
MSSU fell to Northeastern State on Thursday 83-80. Cam Martin led the Lions with 24 points and ten rebounds. Braelon Walker added 20 points and went 4-4 from the three-point line. Martin leads the team with 21.9 points per game and also averages 8.4 rebounds per game. Elyjah Clark averages 16 points per game.
 
Missouri Southern is 8-4 all-time against Central Oklahoma and has won the last seven meetings.
 
The Bronchos will continue their season with two games on the road next week. They'll face Lindenwood on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Lincoln on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 3:30 p.m.
